About Abestorm

Abestorm Crawl Space NeatyFresh Max allows for the free circulation of air on the porch and under the house. High moisture levels in the crawl spaces can lead to the decay and rot of wooden pillars that support the house, floor, joists, and beam pillars. Also, high humidity causes an increase in termite activity and the growth of fungi. Rust, which causes corrosion and leaks in metallic pipes, is also factored into the moisture level in your crawl space.

With our ventilation fan, radon gas from treated wood is expelled away. This gas and other odors can easily spread into the living room and cause discomfort. The NeatyFresh Max fan uses a humidity switch to control the fan to commence operation. The fan starts operating when the recorded humidity surpasses the selected value.

INFORMATION

The Abestorm crawlspace ventilator series is designed to circulate fresh outdoor air under the house and porch. Excessive humidity in crawl Spaces is a major cause of premature decay of support columns, joists, floors, and beam supports.

Humidity can promote fungal growth and increase termite activity. Humidity can also cause pipes to rust, corrode, and fail.

Continuous operations help release radon gas, treated wood exhaust, and other odors that may migrate to living areas. NeatyFresh 260/260S, NeatyFresh 540/540S, NeatyFresh 720/ 720S are equipped with a humidity switch. If the relative humidity rises above a selected set value, the dehumidifier will start the fan.

Suitable environment: The humidity in low buildings is between 40-60 degrees, and some environments with humidity above 80 degrees are invalid, such as in a greenhouse.

IMPORTANT: All models are equipped with factory pre-installed thermostats to prevent fan operation when outdoor temperatures fall below 35°F. When the outdoor temperature rises to near 50°F, the fan will return to normal operation.

FAQs About Abestorm 260CFM Crawlspace Ventilator Fan

Are fans of crawl space good or bad?

It’s crucial to remember, though, that installing a fan in your crawl area won’t resolve issues with moisture and humidity. Many vent fans let outside air into the crawl space, which frequently results in further moisture buildup and even worse issues.

Which fan works best for drying out a crawl space?

The ATMOX Internal Fan, which quietly functions and circulates air throughout the crawl area, is the most widely used. It has a capacity of 145 CFM.

Will a fan lower the crawl space’s humidity level?

Because of this, we can state with confidence that fans are not the best option for improving indoor air quality and that they will not reduce the relative humidity in your crawlspace.

In the winter, should you operate a crawl space fan?

Winterizing your HVAC system involves shutting off the vents. By doing this, the pipes inside the crawl area are kept from freezing by the dry, chilly winter air. condensation in the crawl space. Due to exposed vents and inadequate moisture control, condensation occurs in many homes constructed on crawl space foundations.

How Do Crawl Space Automatic Vents Operate?

A bi-metal coil allows the vent to open and close on its own without the need for energy. The vent fully opens to supply fresh intake air when the temperature hits 70°F, and it entirely closes to preserve energy and safeguard pipes when the temperature approaches about 40°F.

What is a crawl space vent used for?

A vented crawl space is a common feature of homes having one. A foundation vent, often known as a crawl space vent, might be compared to an upstairs window. By opening the crawl space vents, you may admit chilly air in the winter and hot, humid air in the summer into your crawl space.

Is insulation present in crawl spaces?

Insulation of a crawl space is mandated by the International Residential Building Code. The crawl space needs to be insulated if it is open or vented. If the crawl area is enclosed, insulation is required.

Can I hide vents in my crawl space?

Experts will probably advise covering your crawl space vents with plastic or aluminum covers if they find that they are the source of your problems. Tar or silicone is used to seal these lids, keeping air from getting inside or out.

Are foundation vents truly effective?

The purpose of this was to keep moisture from accumulating in your crawl space. Vents, regrettably, defy common sense. Rather than encouraging fresh airflow, they let frost and heat seep into your crawl space.

If my crawl area is vented, how can I tell?

Your home’s crawl area vents are visible on the exterior. The number of these vents in your property will depend on its size.
